A 6-day intensive residential training course with a focus on brokering skills development, this course can be taken as a stand-alone or as a pre-requisite for Level 2.
Level 1 is now offered at a regional level under licence to Dixon Partnership Solutions based in Australia and including SE Asia and EEM based in Canada and including the USA. Cohorts are under discussion for North America,India and Southern Africa.
Level 1 dates for 2010 are as follows:

A version of Level 1 is now available for selected organisations taking on a brokering role - this is developed on a case-by-case basis. Contact us if you are interested in discussing this for your organisation. PBAS@thepartneringinitiative.org
A period of 3 months mentored professional practice - where the brokering theory and skills covered in Level 1 are applied to the candidate's day-to-day brokering work. This work is written up in a 'log book' (practice journal) and a final essay that is formally assessed prior to the accreditation being awarded.
Those who successfully complete Level 1 (whether from the open courses listed above or as part of an organisational cohort) can apply for Level 2 at any time up to 2 years after they have completed Level 1.
Upcoming Level 2 dates:
Apply by 10th September to start Level 2 on 1st Oct
Apply by 19 November to start Level 2 on 10 January 2011

Outstanding candidates are eligible to apply for a further qualification - this is in the form of a dissertation covering either a new brokering innovation or a detailed analysis of one aspect of brokering practice.
We are currently seeking an academic partner to be able to offer this as a Masters-level certificate.
